In 1968, M.S. Amos moved to Vancouver, B.C., from England; 1978-80 In Vancouver, Amos participated in performance and video at Western Front; and studied drawing with Eric Metcalfe; 1980 B.A., University of British Columbia 1981; travel in Japan and S.E. Asia.; participated in Portopia festival, Kobe; in 1982 Amos moved to Victoria, B.C.

Amos has shown paintings at Whales Gallery, North Park Studio, Victoria City Hall, Belfry Theatre, Stones Gallery, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria Art Rental, Beatrice Jumpsen Gallery, Northern Passage Gallery, Goward House, Emily Carr House, Nunavut Gallery and Fran Willis Gallery in Victoria; the Stephen Lowe Gallery in Calgary; and at Sandstone Studio on Gabriola Island. In addition, Amos's work has often been included in special events, such as the Moss Street Paint-In (various years), South Island Regional Community Arts Council juried exhibitions, Sooke Fine Arts exhibition (1991), and Women Wise Festival at Queenswood House, Victoria.

From 2001 to 2006 Amos organized and developed the Fairfield Artists Studio Tour, which, in 2006, became associated with the Fairfield Community Association. In addition to organizing the tour, and participating in it, Amos had solo shows at Emily Carr House, The Sandstone Gallery , and at the CHRC Gallery; Amos was also associated with the World Tea Party Event and show at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. In 2007 M.S. Amos was selected to design banners for Fairfield ,Victoria, and her work was shown at the Maltwood Museum, University of Victoria in the show Artists and their Studios.
